Students taking Advanced Placement courses face a critical feedback gap: writing is crucial for exam performance, but teachers lack the bandwidth to grade constant practice essays. FRQuick required a scalable infrastructure to deliver immediate, high-quality essay evaluations directly to students.
Ryex engineered a full-stack educational platform powered by Claude 4.5 Haiku. To guarantee grading precision, we implemented a sophisticated evaluation architecture utilizing multi-pass processing and few-shot learning. The system analyzes submissions against official AP rubrics and historical grading data to generate comprehensive score breakdowns, structural feedback, and precise in-line annotations.
Maintaining data integrity between the AI layer and the frontend was paramount. We developed strict JSON validation protocols within the AI pipeline to ensure the interface reliably renders complex, structured feedback without breaking. The application is deployed across a robust infrastructure utilizing Firebase App Hosting and Firebase Storage, ensuring maximum uptime during late-night study sessions, while Google Analytics maps user engagement and product flow.
The platform achieved rapid market validation. It scaled to thousands of users across more than 40 states and processed over 3,000 essays shortly after launch. By delivering rigorous, instantaneous feedback, the product successfully modernized AP exam preparation, demonstrated immediate product-market fit, and ultimately won the Presidential AI Challenge at the state level for Washington, D.C.
